Fx 6300+ r9 290 vs i5 4670k + r9 280x

Hi guys I am about to build as the tittle says... The money I save using the fx 6300 will be used to upgrade the pc, wich one is better for gaming?

Depends on what type of games you play, for MMO's and other CPU intense games the i5 would be better... for first person shooters and other GPU intense games the fx 6300 combo would be. Do you plan to overclock these CPUS? if not you might be better off going with a lower end i5 and a r290 or gtx 780.

Hi,
I always suggest better GPU than CPU, but in this case, i would go with the i5 + R9 280X. It will give you more room for future GPU upgrades, while with the FX 6300 the R9 290 is highest you can go, and i believe you will need to overclock the FX 6300 in some games, to eliminate any bottlenecks

Forgot to mention that, thanks both cpus will be OC (fx 6300 it is a must) but wont be using liquid cooling, just the cm hyper 212 evo, i am planning to oc the fx to 4.2and the i5 to 4.0 GHz I will be playing BF4 and strategy games such as rome total war 2 on 1 monitor 1080p
