I have been using the stock 3.5 ghz for a while now but I wanna squeeze out some extra juice for when watch dogs comes out! Right now I have a gtx 770 and a msi 970a-g46 motherboard that supports overclocking. The fx6300 has been bottlenecking a little bit but Im sure this overclock will even things out. I have never done any overclocking before, seeing as this is my first cpu. Can anyone run by me what it is I need to do to get to 4.5? And what cpu cooler would you recommend (preferably one that can eventually fit in an matx case for when I switch to a smaller case). Thanks

See how far you can get just by increasing the CPU's clock multiplier (in BIOS). Run the 10 pass default test with Intel Burn Test between changes to test for stability... while watching the temps! But don't try to O/C w/o an aftermarket cooler. The stock cooler is only safe for stock temps.

msi 970a-g46 < That board along with it's predecessor the g45 have very poor thermal designs overclocking is not recommended.
