A laser printer is far cheaper in the long run than an inkjet.
I have a Dell color laser, bought in 2007. Ignoring paper and electricity, total costs so far have been replacing 1 toner cart, the black one, for $45. ~4500 pages through it. The other 3 color carts are reporting 60-80% full
An inkjet would have cost far, far more in ink over that life.
