I will upgrade my pc and install a ssd. It will be my boot drive and i will use my current hdd for storage, games. Since i don't want to download all my games i won't format it, but i want to delete the windows files and leave the games, etc.on it. Now my question is how could i delete just the Windows files without formatting the hdd, which is my current boot drive? I know that it will demand administrator rights to delete them, since i tried that with a friend hdd, but how do i bypass that? Thanks in advance.

Solution
If install Win on your SSD, you are still going to have to install you games and other apps again, you can save that data files, but programs (games, antivirus, Word processors), etc will have to be installed anew

I have done what you are doing several times but never found it necessary or even desirable to delete my Windows folder however once you get the new boot drive running I believe you can delete the folder from a DOS prompt if nothing else. Do you just want the extra space?

i know the other programs will have to be installed newly, i was talking about the steam games. But i want to know how to delete the windows files from my current, then old boot drive since i don't want unecessary files on the secondary drive without formatting it.
