Front USB 3.0 plug into back USB 3.0?

Hey guys, working on my first build, and I've run into a snag: There's a USB 3.0 cable coming out of the USB 3.0 port on the front of my case, and it's supposed to go to a 20-1 pin doohickey on the motherboard, but I keep seeing references of what looks like people plugging this cord into a USB port at the back of the computer?

It seems like it might work, as a bridge between another USB port coming right off the motherboard and the front USB port, but like I said, I'm a newb and I KNOW NOTHING, lol. It looks like there's probably some sort of adapter I could buy to plug the USB 3.0 cable into the 20-1 pin doohickey, but my car is in the shop and I'd like the port to work temporarily if possible, don't want to plug it in the back and blow it all.

I've been researching this, and I guess I'm just not asking the right question in my search because I'm not finding answers, so any infos in clarifying this would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, on a side note, the USB 2.0 on the front doesn't appear to have ANY cables coming out of it at all, and, as you've probably guessed, isn't working either. (There are cables, but they're audio)

The case is a Thermaltake Commander MS-I, the motherboard an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0

From the company website, http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001772 yes you have to plug the usb3.0 cable into the back of the motherboard. Side note you can let the usb3.0 cable go through the PCI-E slot or the hole that is for the water cooler.

Thanks for finding that, cin19. Wait, so you're saying there isn't even an option to hook the 3.0 cable into an adapter and into the motherboard? The motherboard has a 20-1 pin slot for USB 3.0...

In the back od case you can see there are two holes, let the usb3.0 cable through that hole then connect it into back of the I/O panel, not on the MB usb3.0 20 pin header.

Kk, thx. One more thing tho, because when I posted that last, it morphed another one of my questions into your quote:

Kk, there is only one front USB 2.0 port, but there is nothing coming off of it, so I am thoroughly confused. All I see is the port, then there is like a circuitboard behind it that feeds the headset and mic cable to the motherboard. There appears to be no place to plug anything into the port and no cables coming off the port.

Your case should has one USB3.0, one MIC & Speaker, one USB2.0, and other for the front panel connector. Thanks a ton, cin19, my USB 2.0 definitely does not look like it has any way to hook it up, but I'm going to start a different thread for it in cases so anyone else having a similar issue might be able to find it. I'll mark this one solved - thanks! I've got my 3.0 plugged in the back and it's working great.
