Hello there,
I bought CPU AMD FX 6300 few months ago and I'm getting lag spikes everytime I play any game. Game always runs normally but then CPU usage spikes to 90-100% . I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. This is my PC right now. http://www.czc.cz/b9e8lirpeaiosb3gutq44fmd44/seznam. Anyone got same problem or knows how to fix it please?

From my experience it isn't normal to spike to above 80% in games with CPUs that have more than 4 cores. Most games will use 2, newer ones will use 4, which theoretically can only use up to ~67% of your 6 core CPU. Then you take into account Windows (my 6300 idles at 1-2% in Windows 8 with LoL and Chrome open). So standard would be 70% if your CPU was not bottlenecked. You have 10% lead room for other applications that may be running. Anything above that would indicate something is going wrong.

What is using up your CPU? Check in taskmanager.

This is my task manager ingame. It goes around 30% (5-10% when I'm in windows)so it's ok. Later in game i got around 50% and it's still ok but then it jumps to 85+ and frp drops to 10. Most of CPU is always used by game, skype and chrome.

Edit: FPS is always higher than 60 until CPU usage jumps and jumps stays even if I close chrome and skype.

my guess is you have a malware or virus in your system, i would run a scan to find it and try to eliminate it...
it's not normal when playing a game to have such ''spikes''...sometimes you can get CPU intensive portions in a game but it should be unnoticeable with this kind of somewhat ''high-end'' CPU...having the framerates droping by about 10 or 12 fps at times is normal and it should get back up right after the ''action'' has taken place...but i think there is defenetly something wrong with your system.

Almost everygame. Assasin creed etc.. but even games with worse graphic etc.. like league of legends , naruto ultimate ninja storm 3..
Game always uses the most cpu usage. Someone on different forum told me it could be mobo's fault

If LoL takes up 80% then there's definitely an issue. It takes up about 15% for me.

My guess is you have AMD's smartcore auto-controlling stuff turned on. So it will run your CPU at much lower speeds which can lead to having to use more of your CPU up. Try turning it off in BIOS (it might be under CCC). You can also use CPU-Z to see if your clock speeds are in fact being lowered.

I did not find it in BIOS :/

Well, it is in another language but I see two things right off. That cooler is not going to dissipate the heat that 6300 produces. It only has a 92 mm fan and only two heatpipes. A good cpu cooler for the 6300 will have six heatpipes and either a 120 mm fan or better yet a 140 mm fan. Number two. That motherboard is without a doubt throttling that cpu. It has no heatsinks on the mosfets and is 4+1 phase power. You need 8+2 phase power and nice, beefy heatsinks to keep your mosfets cool when you have a power hungry cpu like a 6300 or 8350.

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P (rev. 1.0), CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Both are good quality products that won't break the bank. I own several of both.

This is a longshot but have you checked your Resource monitor in Task manager to see if your some of your cores are parked.
It is worth a try. They are easily unparked. There is a possibilty for core parking to affect game play.

I don't think the cooler will do much unless your current temps are 60+ when in load. The stock sucks more than the one you have and i'm overclocked to 4GHz on it without heat issues. I would look more onto what jai suggested, and it would be nice to see your task manager.

Of course getting a better cooler won't do any harm, just don't count on it solving anything.
