Hey guys, I am planning out my new build and found 2 very well priced hard drives. The first is a Western Digital Green drive with 2TB of space, 64mb cache, SATA 3.0gb/s. With shipping, this will cost 61.04 USD. The second option is a Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB HDD 7200 RPM, 32mb cache, SATA I. I don't plan to store movies on this, but I don't see why not! This build will be mainly for gaming, 3D animation, and general use. I also plan to get a 240gb SSD as well. So, which should I get, or should I ignore both options and go for something better? Thanks for any help and advice!

WD Blue drives are priced well and often below the green and make excellent gaming drives . (make sure to get the ezex model. Its wicked fast)
Green 1tb $65 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236070
Blue 1tb $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236339

But on your 10 games question. it should but I dont know which 10 games you play. You can find them on explorer and rt click on them and then on properties to find out how much space they need and then just add them up.

Keep in mind that a 240gb ssd doesn't give you 240gb of space. If you give up 20% of space for over provisioning then you will have 180 something left after formatting loses.

They are not around the same price range, one is about $35 and one is about $60.

Yes, the 240gb SSD will be my primary boot drive, and either one I get will be storage. I will also use the SSD for a couple of my favorite applications.

You dont want the green drive if you will be installing games to it either. The drive has a sleep timer built into its firmware which cannot be disabled and can cause games to not play well - caused by the drive needing to spin back up to fetch a file.

Oh, I didn't know that. You think that a 240gb ssd will be able to store just like... 10 of my favorite games, Windows, and like 1 or 2 more applications? I'm pretty sure it will... But thanks for that! If I get that one I will definitely only use it as a storage drive!
