Idle I am getting 14-18c, but when I load WoW it steadily goes up to 70c. FX-8320@3.8GHz.

Is there something wrong with the pump? I turned off my computer for a full night and seems like the pump wasn't moving the fluid properly when I started it the next day.

I already applied some new thermal paste and made sure it was seated properly. Dunno what else to do. Both the bios and the Corsair Link software say all fans/pump are working at the right RPMs.

EDIT: Before I did the full night off, I was getting the same idle but when I loaded the game it never went above 40c.

Solution

You should feel a slight buzz but you may miss it if you don't know what to feel for. It is possible you are airlocked. Try taking your rad and block out hold the rad above the block and give it a couple of shakes that will drive any bubbles out and into the rad where they belong.

Lowest I can get in normal room temp right now is 18-20c, the lowest I've seen since this problem has started is 14c, and that's from a fan blowing cold air into the room over night. It's gotten pretty cold here in the night in Southern WA.

alright that is cold. Can you hear or feel the pump while it is running?

Yeah I don't know. I did pull it off and held it higher than the pump and shook it. Temps are lower but are still a little high. Hasn't gone over 60.

Thanks for the help.
