What is the best CPU for Skyrim with 200 mods I was thinking a fx-6300 or should I go with intel I heard intel is better with skyrim.

Dont worry about any thing else I have already, except what motherboard should I use if I use AMD
(dont worry about if I get an intel I have already chosen the ASRock extreme 4)
P.S. I am using a gtx 780 graphics card

Solution
skyrim = single-threaded game built on an old game engine = INTEL...
even a core i3 does better in skyrim than the most powerfull AMD CPU...even fully overclocked...but now don't go buy a core i3, this type of single-threaded game is almost a thing of the past now and we are seing more and more games that uses 4 core or more, so i would recommand something like a core i5 4570 or core i5 4670 for some future proofing...if you play BF4 or crysis 3 for example a core i3 may have a hard time keeping up as those games can take advantage of up to 8 cores...

The thing is Intel CPU's have a better performance PER CORE...so when only 1 or 2 core are fully utilised those CPU's performs better than AMD wich has somewhat weaker core, but they have...

Hey,

In regards to heavily modded Skyrim I would suggest an Intel processor, although the limitations/bottlenecks that you will face in a heavily modded version of Skyrim will arise from your graphics card. More specifically the amount of VRAM that your GPU has will indeed limit how many mods you can run smoothly. I have a 2GB Gtx670 and after installing a bunch of texture mods along with the RealVision ENB I ran into some stuttering issues partly due to my GPU running out of memory (it was constantly at 2GB). So if you really plan on pushing Skyrim to the limit I would suggest a graphics card with at least 3GB of VRAM. Besides that a decent motherboard and even something like an i5 4670k will do. Overall I would recommend an Intel CPU for gaming, although AMD also has some good offerings.

Hope this helps!
