I was planning on buying a computer from Cyberpowerpc within the next 9 months and I wasn't sure what CPU to get. Is a i5 4670 processor good or should I get a i7 4770 processor. I was mostly planning on gaming with this computer.

Solution
If you plan on buying Intel, which is a very good option. The i5 4670k is the best price to performance CPU for gaming. I use a i5 3570k and I have not ran into a CPU issue with a game yet. Though Future title will take advantage of more cores and threads.
Note: AMD had a big role in the development of Battlefield 4 and I believe that AMD paid over 5 million dollars to Dice to have their 8 core CPUs be utilized. So I would expect this to be a trend especially PS4 and X one use AMD CPUs.
So an i5 has fewer but more powerful cores than their 8 core counterpart(FX 8350) and in recent games the i5 will perform very well, i7 too. Most games now use a a single core for a most of the work and then spread the load over the remaining...

I've heard bad things about CyberPowerPC. I would definitely suggest building the desktop yourself if you feel like you can do it. Not to mention building yourself will be cheaper, allowing for better components.

Down to brass tax. Given that you'll be doing mostly gaming on your soon-to-be new desktop go with the i5 4670. Better yet you might look into a 4670K (if you're into overclocking). It could give you a good performance boost down the line. Although, and don't quote me on this, Broadwell or at least a Haswell refresh should be coming down the pipe in the next nine months. You might wait it out and see what comes up.

Before you go too far, you should also look at places other than Cyberpower for pre-built PCs eg newegg, ncix, microcentre. See what they have for the same money. http://www.newegg.com/Store/PromotionStore/ID-2125620?name=Gaming-Entertainment - Cyberpower plus others.

For gaming, i5 is plenty. If video editing/rendering get an i7.

If you want to just game and also be able to overclock the CPU then get an Intel i5 4670k

I would go i7. Watchdogs spec is asking for 8 core/threads, and i would expect this to start being the norm as developers start optimizing there game engines to take advantage of the next gen console cpu's. The price is not that much more and you have the comfort of future proofing. It is a lot less hassle to upgrade a gpu than a cpu.
