Hello, quite frankly we have no idea what's wrong, but we have narrowed it down to one of these: HDD failure, Virus, Corrupted files.

His windows boots to the windows 'logo' and stops, and just doesn't move, we tried plugging it in to another pc and we had the same problem.

After change the boot orders around (for testing) we found that if HDD 1 (working) is the boot drive, and HDD 2 (Faulty?) is plugged in, windows will not boot, but as soon as you unplug it windows boots just fine.

Thanks in advanced, i'll post updates if i can figure anything out, but for now... we're a bit suck.

Hi,

Your case obviously indicates that something is wrong with the hard drive that prevents the system to boot when it is attached or connected to your PC. It could be possibly caused by a defective/damaged PCB circuitry of the HDD which could be possibly replace by an identical model in order for the HDD to work for you to recover your files.
