I'm looking to help a friend buy a *very* low-end PC. He's very short on cash, but his current PC is running Windows XP and is about 9 years old. It's running an Intel Pentium 4 515. and has 2GB of RAM.
Here is the Speccy data on it:
Yesterday I found a special deal on Dell's website for an Inspiron 3000.
Today Newegg has this bundle that's $50 more
Now if I use Passmark to compare the two CPU's, the Intel Pentium G3220 is about 33% faster than the AMD A4-6300? Ths link formats badly, best to copy/paste: =2083&cmp[]=2020]http://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2083&cmp[]=2020
I tried comparing the graphics capability, but not sure if I had it right when I found that the AMD would be about 25% better on graphics than the Intel/Dell solution.
Any insight appreciated. Thanks!
