I have a wireless mouse which has suddenly started to go slow. I changed to a corded mouse, but I have the same problem. I am running Windows 8.1

Maybe you should go to Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options and screenshot the Motion option to us.
Or perhaps, does either of your mouse can set the DPI?
