I understand that but how much should it have because i am looking at models that have anywhere from 1-4 gb dedicated

1GB should be fine and 2GB is the max you should get, there's no point getting more than that.

Ok because i am loooking at gaming laptops and all the ones I gave found have varied from nvidia gt 740 with 5 gb dedicated to nvidia 840 with 2gb dedicated
