help with partition of hard drive

i had my driver partition 400 on one and 100 on another one i copy a recovery from a windows 8 computer and it formatted the 100 partition now i cannot access the other 400 partition, i need help i want to format my drive and get the 500 gig back

Assuming you are going to re-install an operating system on the other 400GB, Boot your system with the Operating system disk. There are sufficient instructions there to walk you through the process. If you are looking for something to be on the 400GB portion of your hard drive, you are out or luck, formatting the hard drive erases everything on it.
