I'm starting to build my first (budget gaming) pc and i was wondering if all of the components would all work together, and if i will need a sound card and if so which one to go for.

My specs:

Zalman z11 plus case

Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 Motherboard

AMD FX8320 Black Edition 8 Core

Corsair Builder Series CX 600

Amd R9 270x

G.SKILL Sniper 8GB RAM

WD 1TB 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive

LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x SATA Half Height Internal DVDRW Drive

Windows 8.1 pro

I would really appreciate some help.

Yes they will. That said, the PSU is bad, this would be better: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb...

Also, is the RAM 2x4GB sticks or just a single 8GB? 2x4Gb is faster as two sticks will run in dual channel mode.

thst psu has less watts, would 600w be better?

550W is more than enough for this build. More wattage doesn't make one PSU better than the other. The CX PSUs use cheap capacitors and tend to fail more often than the XFX one, which is made by Seasonic, one of the best PSU brands out there.
