Hey, I recently bought a Samsung 840 EVO SSD, and planned to use it along with my old WD desktop internal hard drive (500GB). First, I couldn't get the Samsung Memory Transfer program to recognise my SSD, with it either plugged in using a USB cable or with it actually in the computer. I installed a blank copy of windows 7 I had to make sure the SSD worked (which it seems to), but only when I don't have the other hard drive plugged in.

I'm pretty bad at computer terminology and stuff, so please keep any advice as simple as possible :D

Thanks!

make sure the correct drive is selected in your bios.

In the bios you should see a boot drive option and in that you must have your ssd selected if it has the operating system on it.

this happens to me when I swap out drives sometimes.

Are they definitely both powered + plugged into the motherboard?
