Do i need to change my current powersupply just because i want to use Zotac GTX 760? My current system is :-
*FX 6300
*8GB RAM
*X-Calibre 500W Powersupply
What am i gonna do with this system when i install GTX 760? Im just going to play some online games, offline games and do some homework. I wont do any overclock or anything else. My room average temp is 31c(i dont know if this room temperature have to do with it or not but im just telling you guys to make it all clear). Im probably using this system for around 2/3 more years and probably will buy new PSU as well but for now i plan to just using current PSU. Is that ok ? Thankyou in advance :)

PS: sorry for a bad english

edit: im also having 2 HDD *500GB SEAGATE *1TB WD Blue
oh i just calculated my pc power with newegg calculator (http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index...) and it said i need 479W.

Solution
Thermal and Power Specs:
97 CMaximum GPU Temperature (in C)
170 WGraphics Card Power (W)
500 WMinimum Recommended System Power (W)
Two 6-pinSupplementary Power Connectors

this is strait from Nvidia. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760/specifications they recommend a 500W PSU minimum. you will be fine as with my gaming system the max I draw is 535W (read from my UPS) including the monitor you will be fine.

EDIT: I'm OCed and tons of extras drawing power also. when they say 500 W recommended it is for the Hole system not just for the GPU.

Hm the psu looks very good but the 760 needs min 500w so if i was you i would inquire to a professional better ask cause your whole system may burn down

No that is not true what are you talking about?

anjingliar if your psu is not enough power the computer simply wont work it wont hurt it. I think you should be fine and if it does not work just order a new PSU

If your PSU is going to "burn down" your system, it would do so because its incredibly, improbably faulty and shorting out. If you don't have enough power to run a video card, it just won't work. That's a little silly, when you think about it.

Nvidia's PSU recommendations take into account the garbage PSUs that many manufacturers produce, but the GTX 760 only peaks to about 160 watts of power in a torture test scenario (Source from this very site). If a 500 W power supply has any trouble with that + the rest of your system, its just a bad 500 W power supply.

I have no idea of the quality of that PSU, particularly if its a brand that's sold mostly in another country, but provided its in good working order and has two PCI-E power connectors, it should be fine. Chances are you have enough overhead to compensate for any power delivery fluctuations.

Hm silly maybe three people told me that one of them was a pc expert so i dont find it ''silly''

don't forget about Seasonic and the platinum and gold rated Rosewill PSU's. Seasonic is one of the best quality (with extremely low ripple and voltage variance) PSU's out and the gold and platinum rated PSU's are made by the same company as the XFX.

Ill list PSU that i plan to get:-
*Seasonic 520W M12II
*Silverstone 500W/600W STRIDER ESSENTIAL
*Corsair VS550/650(if either these two is enough then i would just get these) /CX600M
*Cooler Master 550W GX 2 (i heard words around that CM isnt good at making PSU)

CoolerMaster has a select few PSUs that are high quality, that one not being included. You would be cutting it close with 500W then (its possible to use a 500W but its safer to just get some headroom). The Corsair VS series is actually quite cheap and low quality compared to their other products.

I would get this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013

I'm not too knowledgeable about XFX. Generally they are high quality but most brands have a low quality series (such as Corsair CX and VS). I would double check to see if this series is good, but 550W should be enough.

Edit: I calculated the wattage and you will only be drawing ~360W. I believe the Newegg calculator tells you the recommended PSU, not how much you will be drawing. In this case the Seasonic 520W is good. I knew the 760 could run off a 500W :l
