So I turned an old router of mine into a repeater with dd-wrt firmware and followed the steps to the letter without incident. However, When I finished setting up there was a noticeable problem, I could no longer connect to the internet wirelessly or wired. It says that both my repeater have a perfect connection but for some reason neither is able to connect with the internet. Then when I troubleshoot it says that it cant make contact with the server and when I attempt to access the internet it is a constant timeout. Then as soon as I disconnect my repeater the internet starts to work perfectly again as if nothing ever happened. Can anyone help I will provide any info you need

Please give a list of all of the model numbers of equipment you have and how it is hooked together

It sounds like you have something either wired wrong or configured wrong.

FYI: repeaters will have a noticable difference in latency/performance vs your normal router. Repeater has to split its bandwidth in half to first talk from itself to the router, and then from itself to the devices connected to it.

ok... connectivity... you need: internet modem > Router > Repeater > End device.

Do you still have an actual router? A device that supplies an IP address to the end devices?
