So I am getting th NZXT H440. The thing it does not have is a 5.25 bay. So a guy said on the comments of the review of the case all you need to plug in the cables without mounting it to install Windows 8 then unplugging it after the install is done. Is this true? Has anyone have any experience with this method? Thanks!-TheDarkLighting

Exactly. The physical mount is just that, a physical mount. The only purpose is to hold the drive, it bears no relation to the actual functionality of the drive. Just put it somewhere you won't kick it or drop it, and mind the cables. I have done this countless times when troubleshooting HDDs and optical drives.
