Hi,

So I am building a gaming pc and want to know what the best monitor for £150-£200 is?

The pc will be for my girlfriend and to be honest she will prob mostly play games such as The sims 3 and 4 (when it is released) but she may also play games like Skyrim, Titanfall & Simcity.

I want the monitor to be 1080p and be as crystal clear as possible.

I am not sure how important the response times will be for the games she will be playing.

Please any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

My friend have this, great monitor, it's an IPS monitor, which means better color reproduction and better image. The design is also pretty nice, not just made of glossy plastic: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-mx239h

Go for the ASUS VG248QE. it has a fast 1ms response time, 144hz nice smooth/clear picture. getting close to the top of your price range, IMO its the best monitor for the price.

This monitor is great, no doubt. But 144Hz is only needed if you're really into FPS gaming, mostly talking Battlefield, Counter-Strike & Call of Duty. For the Sims 3/4, Skyrim, Simcity. You'll want a monitor witl the best immersion possible aka. best colors. Colors on a 144hz is pretty washed out and uses a TN panel, Whereas the IPS 60hz have much clearer picture.
