How to delete everything but OS off laptop

I'm selling my laptop and need to delete my data, but i installed OS myself..... How can I delete everything exept the OS

The only way to really do that is a full wipe and reinstall.
If you go through an uninstall every application, some personal stuff will likely be left in the Registry.

And when you sell it with the OS, you have to give the new owner the disk and license key.

Assuming you're running Windows,

1. Insert your Windows installation CD into your computer.
2. Reboot, and in BIOS settings/boot options select your CD drive as the primary boot drive.
3. Reinstall Windows (NOT REPAIR), and in the section where it asks what partition you want to install Windows on, select the option to "Format" the drive in question.

During the reinstall, delete all partitions, resulting in one large unallocated space.
Allow Windows to install to that.

As long as you have the installation CD you can still reinstall your OS at any time, but make sure you note down what your serial number is before deleting everything.

Or:
Wipe the drive with DBAN.

Give the new owner the blank laptop, the install disk, and the activation key. Let him install fresh, and create whatever user accounts he wants.

If you do not have your Windows license key then when you reinstall windows you will be unable to activate it, and will lock up in 30 days.
