In the past 4 months I've been through two modems and two routers. Currently I have a negear cmd31t modem and a netgear wndr4300 router. My modem drops every day or two and the router does as well. I have about $180 invested in this setup, and I'm still within the return policy at BBY. What is the best, and most cost effective duo that will allow me to pull a better connection on XBL? I'm currently paying for 50mbs/up down and 12mbs/up, and it usually tests out a little better than that. I've already used name bench to find the best DNS settings and know how to configure a router to work with xbl. I just need some help picking a permanent solution!

I've personally never had any issues with Comcast on my end with a Motorola SB6141 modem and ASUS RT-N56U router. I have experienced terrible connectivity issues and lag spikes, but that's due to Comcast's poor service.

So the netgear modems did have a long history with Comcast and charter of having some issues, but that was a few years ago I would assume they have been fixed out by now. Can you get to the signal stat page on the modem should be 192.168.100.1 if so post them here. I suspect you will have a return issue, but won;t know until you post the signals, aftet that I'd have to look up your account in scout to see what has been going on.
