I want to upgrade my XPS14 (L421x) memory, my options are:

- Markivison 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3-12800)
- G-Skill F3-1600C11S-8GSQ 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
- Kingston KVR16S11/8 - BOX Memória Kingston 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600, Cas Latency: 11, Voltage: 1.5V

Which one is better? Does this notebook support 1600Mhz?

G-Skill is the most respected brand out of all of them for gaming. However, memory is pretty standard, go with the cheapest one.

According to your notebook's manual, you have only one internally-accessible DDR3 SODIMM socket. Buy any cheap 4GB 1600 MHz, non-ECC DDR3 SODIMM RAM. This one will work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148736&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Ahmadjon, you are wrong, the other 4gb is there, just not accessible. The max supported is 8GB, with 4GB hardbuilt in.

You got it wrong, I only have ONE slot, my max memory is 8GB! I'll remove this 4GB and put the new 8GB in the place!

Bought: G. Skill 8GB 1600Mhz

Speccy details: http://pastebin.com/kGeQ5vau

Is everything Ok?

I know that DRAM Frequency 798.2 MHz is always half of actual speed, so it's ok, but, "Channels # Single" should be "Dual", right?

According to official XPS 14 (L421x) pdf, this computer has dual channel RAM, here,

ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-prod..._laptop/xps-14-l421x_Owner's Manual_en-us.pdf
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_xps_laptop/

My processor, i7-3517U supports Dual channel as Intel site says: http://ark.intel.com/products/65714/Intel-Core-i7-3517U-Processor-(4M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz)

I'm confident that my computer supports Dual channel, but Speccy doesn't think so. =/

So, its not a question of the processor but that there is only one memory slot. I was mistaken in thinking the other memory stick was built in. So yes, your processor could handle dual channel (most do), your ultrabook only has one memory slot, and will therefore only operate in single channel mode. Dual channel requires 2 or more slots.
