Should I get more than 1 expensive monitor?

I've recently made a major upgrade to my PC and I bought an Asus VG248QE monitor (around £275 on amazon) to go with that. I already have a second monitor that I used before the Asus one but it's pretty much impossible to calibrate it so the image is in line with my new monitor, so for that reason I was considering getting a second VG248QE. Is that a good idea? From what I understand I wouldn't be able to get 144hz on it as it'd have to be connected with an HDMI. The second (or potentially third) monitor would only be there for stuff like skype, youtube, and other windows that I want to have up in front of me at all times while I'm playing games on my main monitor so spending another £275 seems like a waste to me as I wouldn't be able to make the most of it... but then again, I want the size of the monitor and the image to be the same.

I'd say stick to one monitor, unless you do a LOT of multitasking, then get another one. I believe you can run 2/3 of those monitors in 144Hz at the same time, but i don't know how. When playing games (waiting for respawn for example) and you wanna open youtube or other app, you can just alt+tab. How do you watch a video and playing games at the same time? You got some serious multitasking skills man...

I do multitask quite a lot but not at that level, lol. Alt tabbing is not something I like doing and playing games was just an example (i do a lot of programming as well). All I need to know is whether it's worth getting a second £275 monitor (or if I could even make use of that 144hz) or is there another cheaper solution that would suit my needs. And I definitely do NEED a second monitor.

If you really need another one, I'd say get the same exact model (so it will not look odd on your desk). As far as i know, that monitor is design for gaming. That monitor has 1ms response time and 144Hz refresh rate, so basically there will be less lag/delay between what you do and what you see on the screen, if you enable the 144Hz refresh rate, you're not gonna see an obvious difference in the fluidity/smoothness (not even in games). In FPS (First Person Shooter) games higher refresh rate means that where ever your opponent is, it's more accurate (most people can't see the difference between 60Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz). So I'm guessing you don't game a lot, you don't really need the 144Hz refresh rate then, but i suggest you to enable the 144Hz refresh rate, even though you won't need it that much (i mean the monitor has the capability, so why not?). So yeah, if you're just gonna do some programming and multitasking, the 144Hz refresh rate won't give you much benefits.
