1 xfx r7970 and fx 6350 cpu and 950 watt corsair psu and 2 x 4 gig Kingston hyper x blu ram @1600 MHz the motherboard is amazing has so much options asrock extreme 9 990 fx for overclocking. there is only when loading need for speed in every few revolution of the loading circle for a fraction of a second a pause I think that's the processor struggling to process the game quick enough but when the game has loaded no problems graphic's are sorted and it runs super smooth.
What I want to do now with the stock fan cooling system is over clock it to around 4.6 ghz just to get the most out of this cpu and see if nfs loads smoothly.
can u tell me how to manually ovelclock step by step the bios settings to my cpu to 4.6 ghz or more with a stock cooler safely or send me a step by step link.

More about : manually ovelclock step step bios settings cpu ghz

There are tons of guides on how to overclock. There is probably even one specifically for your CPU and mobo. So why dont you do a little research (even right here on this very website), and find out the info you need. Its out there, stop being lazy.

Asking someone step by step how to overclock something is a ridiculous request. Every board, CPU and everything is different. Even if they are the same brand, there are differences in all hardware. So its all trial and error there is no standard OC settings.

Stock fan? Upgrade that first. OCing creates heat, and you'll need a better way to get rid of it.
