Problem displaying at 2560x1080 with AOC q2963Pm 29" 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 560

I have a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 and just bought an AOC q2963Pm 29"

When displaying in 2560x1080 the text in windows becomes horribly distorted and unreadable and the background is not crisp. At first I noticed I did not have the proper DVI Dual Link Cable. Waited a week to get a new one. Now it still produced the garbled crap at 2560x1080. All other resolutions work fine. I am in Windows 7. I have all the proper drivers for my video card.

Help. At a loss.

I have the same problem with my Macbook Pro with GT 650M running Windows 8.1. If you try to create a custom resolution in the NVIDIA-settings, set the timing to CVT Reduced Blank instead of Automatic. Then, the text will be crisp. But the only thing which is dumb (huge problem for me) is for each time quitting a fullscreen game, everything messes up and I have to turn the screen on and off. The screen then goes black, and the NVIDIA-drivers force-closes and starts again. For now, I'm using Automatic until I get a Displayport-cable :p
