Hello, today I decided I would re-do all of my cable managment, also making sure I would have enough space for the new HDD I'm getting.

After putting evrything back together I booted up and uad some Windows problem, turns out my boot order was wrong no biggy but during this time I had kept pulling out and putting back in my GFX card to reach and fiddle with some sata cables in the back (I didnt use onboard because one of the screws from the card was stuck in the DVI cable and I thought it would be hard to pull it out).

At the end when all was working fine I thiught I would also unjam the screw from the DVI cable as I had to remov
e and put back in my GFX card for the last time, so I may adwell do that too (should have done it earlier to save me lots of pulling out and putting back in, but I was lazy).

Anyhow after doing all that and booting up I get no signal (fans work, on board works), did I kill my gtx 670 by putting the female screw back in its slot next to the dvi slot?

Tried different monitors, different pcie slot, different cables (only dvi tho), tried both dvi slots.

Sorry for bad spelling, Im on mobile and quite pissed off atm.

Thanks in advance.

I now know the problem is in the bios, what could be preventing monitor signal?

Test the card in another computer and another video card in yours. You said you have onboard video, remove the nVidia card and try using onboard.

Hi hang, yes the on board works but I'm not sure what your point is. Also I dont have another rig for testing.

I made some progress, basically if I flip the switch on my double BIOS motherboard the card works fine, when I switch back to my OC'd bios the monitor doesn't get any signal.

I'm starting to think that maybe the OC'd CPU draws too much power so the GFX card doesn't work?

I'm now running a new card EVGA GTX 780 ACX, i7 3770k OC'd @ 4.7Ghz and the PSU is Corsair TX550M.
Other things drawing power are just 5 fans, and a sound card (PCIe x 1 + 1 molex).

The point to testing with onboard is that it shows that the system itself is fine. For testing you need to set everything to defaults, meaning BIOS on stock settings, no overclocking, no special settings, etc...

Yes as I said with the stock BIOS, everything works perfectly, but when I switch to my OC'd BIOS the monitor gets no signal, and my theory is that the OC'd CPU is drawing too much power for the PSU to power both that and the graphics card.

Considering the 780 you have running now uses more power than the 670 that does not work, the power draw is not the issue. Set the BIOS to defaults where it works, then see what happens when you overclock by a little bit at a time.

Ok so I went through all the BIOS settings that I had touched in order to OC my CPU, it was only CPU ratio and the core voltage. I changed them back to "Auto" like I have on the working bios, which is the default settings.

I still have the same problem, no signal to monitor using the previously OC'd BIOS, I also looked into the intergrated graphics to make sure it gave priority to the PCIe Card (PEG).

Pls halp.

Please do not bump up posts. If the issue is only with one of the BIOS files, you can check with the motherboard support to see why even setting it to the same settings as the other one did not fix things.
