Hi folks!

Sorry for bad focus.

I am sorry to bother you with my issue, but I have to try asking. My Gainward 770GTX 2GB seems to suddenly be having some problems with games, just games, videos plays just fine (WMP, VLC, YT... you name it)

When i start a game the screen shifts between being pixelated in a "snowy" matter and going black, after some time the screen goes black until I exit this game, and then the "Nvidia driver has stopped and started again"-message pops up.

My components have never been OC'd and the my main components idles around 25-40 celsius.

Everything has been going great the last 7-8 months, but today this problem suddenly started.

I should also note that my external sound card (Focusrite Forte) stops working as this happens and I have to replug the USB.(but even with this card not connected the problem exists)

I have tried:
- Taking my card out for some time and checked the cables.

- Uninstalling the drivers then reinstall.

- Tested DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort (Same issue)

- Verifying game files. (when i thought this only was a CS:GO problem, turns out it wasn't.)

All attempts to help will be greatly appreciated! :)

My build is:

Intel Core i7-4770K Processor /w Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo CPU Cooler

MSI Z87 MPOWER, Socket-1150 Motherboard

Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB DDR3 PC15000/1866MHz CL9 - 2x8GB

Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720W PSU

Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 240GB 2.5"

Seagate Barracuda® 3TB

Gainward GeForce GTX 770 2GB PhysX CUDA

I also apologize for my English grammar, but I'm not a native speaker - so please bear with me. :)

Solution
That is definitely a GPU thing.
Use MSI Afterburner to lower the clock speeds by 10MHz at a time then test it. It it does it again, lower it another 10MHz. If you reach the bare bottom. Return the card. I recommend AMD. I have one, and it works like a charm. You can get a AMD Radeon R7 260X for $120. Don't make the same mistake I did and get the $100 Radeon R7 240. You will get a lot more with the 260X. Also.... AMD has it's own OC software. I use it to the (Almost) max. Perfectly stable.

I had the same issue. I think this might have to do with the core clock. Maybe the RAM clock too. Is the card new? You can try to underclock it. I don't know if Nvidia has some kind of OC software, if not find one (MSI Afterburner works great) then lower both clock speeds by .10 and try it again. If that doesn't work, try to get a new one card.

Tbh, those symptoms are really common with unstable overclocks, but if it's doing that at stock, underclock it, if it fixes it, change it back to stock and try returning it

Every component were bought about 7 months ago and have been working pretty flawless until now, nothing has ever been overclocked. I will try to figure out how to underclock it and post my results. Haven't really been getting into how clocking works yet, but give me some time and couple of YT videos and I will figure it out. :)
