My 1st time building a pc

this is my 1st time attempting to build a pc for gaming purposes and maybe video editing, now i made a list here at http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3wFHW and i'd like to make sure i'm making the right choices. if this helps im trying to play games like ac4, skyrim, minecraft,borderlands 2, or titanfall.

PS-my budget is in the range of $800-$900, if you can adivse me with cheaper components that can do the same performances from the parts listed it would be much appreciated. Also if i am incapable of doing any sort of video editing then disregard it and just focus on the gaming part.

Sweet now what cpu cooler and sound card would you suggest that could go along with this build? And in the future could I upgrade to a intel i7 4770k, would I have to make any changes to this build?

As to to a cooler, Cooler Master's 212 is quite popular

Sound cards aren't as relevant as they once were since the quality and feature sets of on board audio chips has gotten better. I might hold off on looking for one unless you determine the onboard sound just isn't cutting it (and it's not the headset or speakers that are to blame).

You could upgrade to an i7, though the "k" version is differentiated only by being unlocked for overclocking; if you wish to OC you'd need an Z87 mobo.

Honestly, You do not need to add a cpu cooler or a sound card to this build. A 4770k will work with all of these parts, but you will not be able to overclock it without changing motherboards.

I wouldn't downgrade his CPU like that when it only saves him $10. The 4670k is better than the 4570.

Fair enough. The price difference is usually $20-30. It would cost at least an additional $75-80 to be able to overclock though.

I would remove the optical drive.. I bought mine 3 years ago and I haven't used it once. Maybe time will tell if u really need it or not, but it's a place u can cut down on price without any compromises. I just find bootable USB sticks for installing OS a lot more convenient.
I also see that you are cutting a lot of price on the mobo, which idealistically gives you no room for upgrading or heavy overclocking. In that sense, I would recommend with a sleeker and smaller tower instead of that huge mid tower, but that is personal preference IMO.
Additionally, the mobo that you chose only supports up to DDR3-1600 memory so you don't want to buy an 1866.. ur mobo is just gonna downlock it to 1600 anyways.
I thought your PSU was overkill but it's in a super great promo with that mail-in rebate and i don't think i would recommend you anything else at that price point.
