Fellow computer enthusiasts, I'm at a stalemate. I can't decide between two different OC versions of the GTX770 after deciding to not get a GTX 760.

(MSI)

(PNY)

Specs:

AsRock 970 Extreme 3
Phenom II x4 975 BE OC @ 4.14 (getting a CM Seidon 240M so it'll most likely go higher)
16GB HyperXBlu RAM (4x4GB)
1TB WD Blue (getting a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB for games and boot)
Zotac AMP! 560TI 1 GB
Antec High Current Gamer 620 (it has 2x 6+2 pins, so I'm safe. Also, no ticking noises *knock on wood*
Diaboltek Case (I measured and I'll have like, 1-2 inches of clearance. Just enough for cables haha)

Anyway, long story short, getting a summer job, will have cash, want to play Watch Dogs, need a new card so it'll make my eyes water with joy at how beautiful it'll look. I can't decide between these two. I can't do SLI at the moment because of my board, so the issue with the MSI shroud blocking the SLI tab isn't much of a problem, but I'm not sure about upgrades to my MB. I'll probably do CPU and MB at once later on.

That being said, I'm stuck. The PNY has 4 mhz boost over the MSI (so that's .5 of a frame more...), but I want opinions and advice. Usually I trust myself with things like this, but it's a lot of money, so I want to be 114% sure.

Oh, one monitor @ 1080p. I've got a 32 inch, so I don't need multi monitors or 4k (since we humans can't see that anyway, but that's another conversation), so the 2GB options are good for me.

I appreciate all the help guys. Feel free to chime in on any of my other planned purchases too if you want.

-Brendan

I'm sure someone will argue but PNY has produced nothing but garbage for the past 15 years. I personally don't believe MSI is much better just because I've had problems with every MSI product I've ever purchased, but still better than PNY. If they were my only two options, I'd take MSI over PNY any day, but I wouldn't recommend either of them to anyone. There's a reason why they're the two cheapest cards available and when it comes pc components, you get what you pay for and you pay for what you get. :)

I would definitely go for the MSI over the PNY, the Twin Frozr cooler design is far better. I haven't had any issues with my many MSI GPUs and I have been very happy with their service/support department when I have needed it. Another plus with MSI is that if you are in the US they allow you to replace your TIM or install waterblocks/ whatnot without screwing up your warranty (as long as there is no physical damage done to it).

The MSI is worth those extra bucks over PNY.(P.S. You'll find it cheaper on amazon)
