I have a Asus notebook X450L running windows 8.1. I also have Sennheiser pc hd 350 headset that has a mic and a mic plugin and a speakers plugin. the laptop only has one audio jack. its a green one so I'm assuming its for speakers and when I plug my mic plugin into the jack and I hear nothing and the mic doesn't work. I put the speakers plugin into the jack and it I used to be able to hear things from the headset and use the internal mic on the laptop but all of a sudden when I would plug in the speakers the internal mic wouldn't work anymore. but when I removed the speaker plugin I could hear the sound from the laptops internal speakers and could talk from the internal mic. but mind you it sucked and I had a $200 headset laying around doing nothing. PLease help me D: I hope I don't have to spend money. and if I do I hope it isn't too much cuz I'm saving but please help me out here guys. Thanks in advance! also. I didn't know where to put this so I put it here :3

Hi, when you connect something in the jack, you disable the speakers and the microphone for the laptop. To use the headset with the headphones and microphone you need an adapter like this one.

I know you wrote that it worked before, I don't know why it was working and now it's not. But if you have only one jack, it should be for both, the headphones and microphone.
