CPU
XPS 420, Intel Core2 processorQ6600(2.4Ghz 1066FSB)w/QuadCore Tech and 8MB cache 375W Power Supply 3GB DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz

Vdeo Card
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

So for the past month my computer, which runs on two monitors of the same video card, has been glitching over to a one monitor static like screen, and now it has perminately done so. when i went to go check the device manager from what i read online, it has said that windows has stopped the video card due to errors. so was wondering if i should just get a new one or buy a new cpu or a unistall reinstall mode for the video card

It might be the older video card that is causing you problems. The above listed sound like video card issues I had with my old 8800GT

I don't quite understand what is happening maybe i am not reading correctly. Have you tried reinstalled the Nvidia Driver. NOTE: Nvidia does plan to stop support for Legacy GPUs so basically 300 series and before, ie: GTX 260 or 8800GT and all the rest. This won't be this year but 2015 i think. Anyway I don't think your CPU is the issue as your PC seems to be working otherwise. So is your monitor plugged in to the graphics card? What is the Exact error message? Also I am pretty sure that the 8800GT does not have multiple monitor support. I know that it does not have Nvidia surround. So give me a bit more info and I will see if I can answer

i've been using the two mnitors for like 2 years and its worked fine, the error code is 43, i may have to try and reinstall the driver and everything is plugged in like it usually is

I would give reinstalling the drivers a shot as well. Or roll back to older drivers.
