This looks like a pre-built system. What is your PSU?

The motherboard and CPU are fine - always will be. I'm worried that you don't have the proper connectors for the GPU.

you can remove that screen shot if you want. as it has little to do with what your asking.

as long as your pci-e slot is 1.1 or better and you have the required psu power you can run a 7770.
as its a core 2 duo you will likely have a pci-e 2.0 slot so you shouldnt have any hardware compatibility issues.

it would be wise if you do a repair install after you plug the new card in to avoid software compatibility problems, and dont forget to load optimized defaults in bios after you fit the new card

What is your current PSU? Or better yet, what brand/model is your computer (if it is prebuilt)?

350w is enough to run the 7770 as it uses about 76w at full load and can get most of that from the the pci-e slot. as you have a 94gt already you should have enough power to run the 7770

The 9400GT requires less power than the 7770 (recommended is 300W vs 400W, so in reality 250W vs 350W), so being able to run it doesn't mean he can run the 7770. Also, the 7770 requires a PCI-E power cable, which most 350W cheap PSUs don't have.

I'd recommend at least a 450W psu.

I quickly looked and this seemed to be a decent PSU for the price:

If you want a higher quality PSU you have to pay more.

you do know you get a 2x4pin to 6 pin molex adapter with the 7770 so hooking it up shouldnt be an issue. and the power difference between the 94gt and the 7770 is at most 26w (94gt uses 50w max) so it shouldnt be an issue.

Having a quality PSU is still important even with all the cables and wattage. A generic 300W PSU that comes with a prebuilt computer isn't reliable and is dangerous to run decent components in. That's why i'm waiting for the PSU model to give advice.

fair enough. i was just taken aback with your previous saying it wouldnt work when i know it would. i agree a psu should be on the list for purchase as having more than you need rather than just enough is a better option.

Yeah I forgot it had the converter. Knowing that now I agree with your point, but I would never trust a generic.
