Recently I bought a new GRAPHIC CARD. I switched from an amd card 7850hd. Which is a major update, IMO.
The card is great.. But I'm worried about one thing. That it's running quite hot. Idle temps vary from 44-50 degrees Celsius. I live in a hot country it's 36 degrees where I live. And when I play games.. I've noticed the maximum temp is 84 c!
Is that something to be worried about?!

  • Nope. Thats pretty normal for such a high end and power consuming card. Gpus you can run safely between 80-95C so reason to be concerned.

  • The thing that bugs me is that.. boost clock 1085 but its going to 1124 while playing any game. Is it normal?

The reason probably lies in target temperature in your setting. The higher the target temperature the higher the boost clock. To paraphrase, its normal and you just have to change settings if you are having problems.

Oh yeah. Target temperature is set to 83 degress. thats why it stops at 84 degrees. so if i lower the target temp the boost clock will not go this far, right?

    Correct.

You could also modify the fan profile to be more aggressive. When the temp hits around 84C what is the fan speed?

But what is the actual fan speed when at 84C? Auto is just the mode it's using, as opposed to manual.

You should look up how to set up a fan profile.

    alright.
just noticed that you have evo 212 for cpu cooling. Does it work on the lga 1150 socket?

Yep. The hardware is adjustable to fit on a few different types of sockets, both AMD and Intel. It's a very good cooler for the price.
