Hello everyone,

I have been using my ink printer for about 4 years now, quite old, and now color inks are expired, printing things out in color looks awful. Replacing ink cartridges are expensive also, so I end up thinking of getting a laser printer. I am probably getting the Dell c1765nfw, relatively cheap for a laser printer for the functions I want. A few questions about laser printers though. How long to toners last? Do they have an expiration date? Do laser printers really use more power than most ink printers? Thanks for answering.

Distinguished
1) Varies by manufacture. Your toners are rated below per Dell's site:

Black - $70 / 2,000 pages.
The colors - $70 / 1,400 pages

2) Overall, toners don't expire really. Toner ink is nothing more then plastic pellets that the printer melts into the paper.

3) Yes since their are mini ovens in a sense, but the ink negates power usage over time.

I personally don't print a lot(at the moment), do you think a toner would last atleast 2 years of use? I mean, I don't want the color to be degraded like my current color inks, which are expired, printing out green-colorish when I print in color.
