I have a Corsair CS450M modular PSU and a Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270X 2GB graphics card. I understand that its 36A on 12V rail will power the card without problem.

My question is regarding the power connectors. The card requires **2** x 6-pin PCI-E power connectors but the PSU only has one 6-pin PCI-E connector. However, the PSU also has 1 x 8-pin and 3 x 4-pin connectors.

How should I connect the card to the PSU? 1 x 6-pin PCI-E cable plus 1 x 6-pin to 4-pin converter cable (two of these are provided with the graphics card)? Or 1 x 6-pin PCI-E and find a converter for the 8-pin cable?

I'm relatively new to power connectors so please excuse my general ignorance :-)

Thanks

r9 270x needs 24a on 12v rail and total at least 500W - http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-...

try something like Antec HCG 52M - made by Seasonic

PSU PCIE power connector are 8 pin (6+2 side by side) and 8pin. For 6 pin you just use the 6pin part of the 8pin 6+2 connectors
