not able to shutdown laptop due to which battery getting dried

hi ....
if i make my Lenovo laptop shutdown it`ll take huge time,screen goes blank but lights will be blinking....so if i wake up it after some hours ...den the battery will be dried.....i think its not getting shut...so pls suggest me some troubleshooting steps....

Make sure you actually shut down your laptop BEFORE you close it. Depending on the specifications for the laptop, what you have open when you choose to shut down, and what version of Windows you're using, it can take quite some time to fully shut down. I would recommend that you manually close everything before you choose to shut down and then make sure it's actually off before you leave it alone.
