If you are changing out your motherboard, you will need to reinstall windows. If you install windows to a second hard drive, and if you are running windows 8, your computer can probably recognize and access your data from the older windows 8 install.

If you are trying to install a second install of windows to the same hard drive, I think the drive may need to be already partitioned; I'm not sure if you can create a partition on a drive with an active installation of...

Hrmm thats interesting. You may be better of keeping the same motherboard and buying a better GPU, rather than a motherboard and second 7770. Would need to know your full build to make suggestions.

then yes definately you will have to reinstall your operating system ( Windows ) after swapping from the gigabyte board to the msi board.
Don't forget to go to MSI's website and download the latest drivers for your new board and install them and also the drivers for your new cards.
Hope it all goes well for you , you will notice a big difference with gaming with crossfire.
Any problems setting up get back to me and i will be more than willing to help you

I don't really understand the question - you should be able to reinstall windows as many times as you want on the same computer. Depending on the version of windows you own, you can legally install Windows on your PC and laptop, or in some cases more than one computer. You need to review your Windows EULA to know for sure.

Are you trying to add a hard drive, or dual boot? I really don't understand what you are asking.

If you are worried about losing your data, depending on how much you want to keep, your other option is to buy an external hard drive, they are pretty reasonable nowadays. It's not a bad idea to have one anyway in case your drive ever crashes.
