New USB hardware

Hi,

I've had to send my laptop in as one of the USB sockets is broken and needs replacing.

However I have one question would this require The hard drive to be wiped and windows reinstalled?

normally no. they will just replace the motherboard or the usb port. in rare circumstances they will replace it completely (including the hdd). you should confirm with the manufacturer/service if you want to keep the data on it.

Hi, you don't need to do anything with Windows, they will just replaced physically the USB port. Nothing will be changed in Windows, it will be the same as before you send it.
