Steam is not "reading" that my drive already has my games installed but when i go into my computer the G drive is showing up and the games are still in the steam library folder. How can i get steam to "pick up" my drive. Also, when i go into steam and click on a game that i already had installed on my drive, i says that i need to re-install it but the G drive is not an option.

If I'm remembering correctly I had to run the install option but all it did was run the installer not the download again when I re-installed my OS. But my drives were completely readable.

I went into download setting and added my previously existing drive as a steam game library. All my games were still downloaded.

have you tried to launch them from the drive itself? not through steam?

EXCUSE ME? you did not say it was solved, fix, rectified, cured, or no more issue. So no need to get abusive about it! If anyone else reads this thread they would have thought the same thing. SO don't say Stop posting. you can politely say I fixed it or what ever but simple stop posting is very rude especially for those that take there personal time to try to help you with nothing more in return but a good feeling of helping others.

glad the solution was found.
