Hello.

2 days ago i accidentally spilled a cup of black coffe on my case. I thought it was cool since there are no holes on top of it. However after a few minutes my screen started to flicker and the computer frooze. I unplugged the computer and opened up the case when i discovered that there was a brown spot on the GPU. I could not find any spill on any other parts.
I removed the GPU from motherboard, cleaned it with a lens cleaner liquid, let it dry for 24 hours and then popped it back in. Everything seemed to work fine untill i got a bluescreen after 3-4 hours of use. I can't remember what the message said, something "out of memory". This happened again the day after. It happened when i had a lot of applications running. Windows Media Player can also crash and run slowly.

What i'd like to know is, how do i know if the GPU is damaged (3D applications such as games run fine) or if something other than the GPU was damaged in the spill? I checked the RAM with memtest and they are fine.

Check the video card in another computer or another video card with yours, will tell you where the issue is. If games run fine on the thing, it may not be damaged but the motherboard may be, or you need to try a clean Windows setup.
