Hello All,
I am using Century Link DSL as my ISP with the below setup:
> Actiontec c1000a modem operating in transparent bridge mode
> Cisco Valet Plus router handling PPP.
> Two switches sending Ethernet lines throughout the house:
Switch 1) connected to port on the Valet Plus with lines going to wall Ethernet wall outlets.
Switch 2) Connected to Switch 1 (via wall outlet) providing Ethernet lines to media devices in entertainment room.
> Belkin N600 Wifi Extender used in the network to expand network.

I'm experiencing interment network issues in this configuration and I'm curious what the cause could be? 1 to 2 times a day I'll lose connections to the internet and the WIFI network. It takes a restart of the router and sometimes the modem to bring the network back up. I'm curious if this is a result of a bad modem, too many devices on the network, issues with the WIFI extender, etc..

Thanks very much for any help!

Having to restart the modem implies there is a line problem. Restarting the router should clear everything since it is talking to the ISP via PPP which in effect hides everything from the modem. The modem is purely translating ethernet into DSL. If you can still get into the router when this happens try to ping from the router to various devices in your network and maybe to the internet. This should isolate if there is a problem in the lan side or the wan side.
