New build compatibility

So I'm getting my new build together and i'm not over clocking at all. Im just building this to play some fallout 3 or some dragon age 2. Here's what im buying

Asus M5a97 r2.0 mobo

Fx6300 six core processor at 3.5 GHZ 4.1 turbo

4gb gskill ripjaws X 1600MHz

win 7 os

Question is will the ram work. The only reason I got the x version was because it was 37.99 and the original gskill ripjaws 1600 was 43.99 on newegg. But I read the x version is for Intel.

Oh ok good. Thank you for responding. Its that mobo good for the 6300?. Its not the evo or the pro and not the le. Im not going to over clock what so ever. I wanted a fx 8320 but it was 40$ extra and I believe I read that it needs an m5a97 r2.0 pro but the pro is 60$ extra. Thats 100$ I could use towards a gpu and another stick of ram. What do yall think?

Also this is a huge upgrade from my beast of a pc I have now with a 2.2 ghz single core with 2gb ddr ram and a geforce 8400gs lmfao. But yeah any extra input would be awesome.

If you are not going to overclock then the mobo is fine, but you can still look for a cheaper one. I use the Giagabyte GA-970A-DS3P for that CPU and its alright. With the 100$ I would definitely get an extra 4GB of RAM.

Thank you for responding. Yall have been great help so far. Anyone have a gpu recommendation? I wanna play fallout maxed and kingdoms of amular maxed. Maybe even some dragon age 2 and crysis 2 maxed. I was thinking about the amd r series cards? Im on a budget tho.
