Sounds good. But I'd wait a little. Z97 chip set is just around the corner as well as a couple of bumped up processors. I've got a Asus Xonar Essence STX but I can't say I'm very pleased with their software which is buggy and never updated. I'd stick with Windows 7 personally but that's just me. Finally either add another hard drive to the config (for storage of movies, pics, music) or buy a bigger hard drive (2-3 Tb). The bigger the better, you won't regret it.

Have a good one,

Matt

Ok so..
Swapped theGigabyte GA-B85M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard for the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
&
Swapped the Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply for the XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

& still managed to remain in budget, had to leave the sound card as I actually do need the ability to do studio quality audio production.

So whats the final verdict, I'd love to wait for stuff to drop ,but I really need to get his built by the end of next week (May 2nd) to even have a chance of getting any work done & meeting a deadline for my job.

Looks nice!

Based on this I'd get Prolimatech PK-1 ($10):

You don't need a wired network card - won't provide any value over the mobo solution.

If you can use a wired connection, why would you get a wireless as well? Wireless is much less suitable to online gaming.

I'd recommend 2x8GB of Vengeance low profile so there is no chance of interfering with your 212 Evo regardless of which mobo you choose (that can be clearance problems with tall head spreaders). Unless you are highly overclocking the RAM those spreaders are for show only. Also, two sticks uses less voltage overall and puts breathing room between them by leaving a slot empty (in most cases).

Ok with the build except for sound card. Creative Z is pretty good, I just can't recommend Asus at this moment in time, their customer service is bad and their software updates are worse. By the way I'm using Adams Studio monitors and have a Sennheiser HD650, so sound quality is an issue for me.

I still thing hard disk space of 1Tb is low.

have a good one.

Noted, thanks for the advice.
Looking into the low profile Vengeance 2x8 as we as I write this.

Side note: I need both wired & wireless connections as the PC is gonna end up getting moved around (a lot more then I'd like actually :/ ) between work sites & my home.

I dont have an real guarantee that I'll have access to a dedicated hard line so the ability to connect wirelessly to a mobile hotspot is crucial to me.

Also I already own an external 10TB HDD (not that anyone would have anyway of knowing that) so I don't feel like I NEED the extra storage , but I'll look into it.

Changed the Asus Xonar DS 24-bit 192 KHz Sound Card for the Creative Labs
SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio

So final build is actually gonna come out to about 1498 if I take up a co-workers offer for a bootleg copy of Windows 8.1

Thanks for the help so far everyone :)
Any other notes are appreciated.

By "bootleg" I actually meant an OEM product cause I always thought they looked fake (& generally are if you bough em off eBay lol) but again I'm sorry fo rnot being clear & would never in anyway support piracy.

Thanks for setting me straight though.

On a side note I after looking at J_E_D_70 post he bring up a good point...would a large padded industrial case be safe to transpot it in ? I usually use em to carry delicate sound equipment.

Don't think it would be entirely helpful to put your case inside a case. Just lay it on the side so the CPU cooler and GPU are vertical and the mobo is on the bottom.

Or, some folks use closed loop coolers on portable rigs to eliminate the stress on the CPU (still have a large GPU to deal with tho).
