Hello guys, I am building a new pc and finaly today got the last component, the cpu. So I placed my new motherboard on the new case, my old graphic card my old power supply my old hard drive my new rams and the new cpu with a cooler.I connected everything of front panel buttons and the moment I try to power on the system, nothing happens...

Possible erros causing that:
1)As my psu is old without much pins and the new motherboards atx has 24 pins I used 20+4 pins
and on the atx_12v_2x4 which is 8pin I used a 6-pin one.
2) Maybe I placed the front panels cables wrong but I dont think I did.
3)Something else...

Please help me guys I have spent all my budgets on that components just to see it doesnt work...

You say you used a 6 pin connector for the 12v 2x4 cpu power. This is a completely different connector made for graphics cards, you should have an 8 pin or 4+4 pin connector on your psu. Use this.

Yeah I noticed it when I was typing the question :p . If I use just the 20 pin on 24 pin atx and the 4 pin on the 2x4 12_V atx 8pin, till I get a new psu or adapters for pins, will it work or there is big risk damage anything?
Thanks for your time!

For the 20+4 pin are you using separate connectors? You should have a cable with either 20 pins or 24 pins, 4 of which can be detached. If you're using separate connectors, don't do this.
I'm not sure if you can use a 20 pin connector for a 24 pin motherboard, and I'm also not sure if you can use a 4 pin cpu connector with a motherboard that has an 8 pin cpu power connector.

If I were you, I'd just get a new psu if you don't have the right connectors

oh the atx connector is 20+4 together as you said so It should work right.I put the 6 pin on vga and I have one 4 pin left for the cpu which I propably have to use an adapter to make it 8pin
