Help me please , I think i've lost everything on my usb key

I went to connect my usb to a cumputer and use it but it says i got to format it , but like when i click on the small icon to remove it safely , it says the name but i cant acces to any files on it, ive tried chkdsk or so, it says not avalible for RAW. I dont know what to do , i hope there is a way to get back files cause there are school final works

is this a cheapie USB flash drive from China? If so, it's probably defective.
