I watch a ton of movies on my current laptop and plan to do so with my future build. I dont want to get a high power graphics card.

Is the onboard graphics better to keep than to buy a cheap 40-50 dollar graphics card..

Motherboard - Asus z87-pro
cpu- intel 4670k I5

A discrete graphics card is better, although it seems a little wasteful to buy that processor and buy an extremely cheap graphics card.

Also, if all you're doing is watching movies then you don't need a Z87 either.

Im not going to be only watching movies. This is going to be my everyday computer. I going to be doing some editing, multitasking and surfing.

So the motherboard with the intel hd graphics will be fine, and plus i will be getting a high resolution monitor, most likely two of them.
