PC wont start, msi z87 gd65

i just built this thing, its got the led notification light on the motherboard which comes up with AE, then A9. however the main issue i am having is i am unable to get the screens to functions with the motherboard. i used both HDMI cable to a tv and a vga port to a monitor. yet nothing comes up on the screens. i have tried both, tv and monitor ports on the graphics card (asus radeon 7870) and the mother board ports. HELP GUYS !

btw the HDMI and vga cables are working and the system is an intel i7 4770k with an msi z87 gd65 gaming, and corsair vengeance 32gb 1866mhz ram

i have just tried removing 2 sticks of ram and leaving the other two sticks in there but still nothing will try removing the graphics cards in abit.

My first attempt on powering up my new build (same mb) failed. Forgot the additional power connector. Did you plug in both sets of power cords? The 24 pin JPWR1 and the 8 pin JPWR2?
