I am looking to buy an new motherboard and hard drive for my new gaming pc build. I'm sort of a newbie, so excuse me if this is just common knowledge.

Will a 3 gb/s micro ATX motherboard perform slower than a 6 gb/s regular ATX motherboard? Both would be hooked up to a 6 gb/s 1 TB 7200 rpm 6 gb/s hard drive.
Also, is the performance difference significant enough that i would notice a difference in loading times or fps when playing games?
Ive also heard that 6 gb/s only matters for an SSD and otherwise the two different boards would perform the same. Is this true?

Thanks

yep, only affects SSD. In fact and SSD will only max it out for sustained reads, which aren't that common, random read/writes are most common. Day to day, you wouldn't notice any difference.
